This system is a very effective management tool in supporting the
day-to-day activities and field-reporting policies and procedures
for companies that manage field representatives.
The data collected from stores can include activity reports, time
spent on the activity, digital pictures of the display before and
after the activity, electronic signatures, custom store surveys and
more. Field representatives enter these data using a hand-held Pocket
PC, telephone, laptop or desktop Workstation, or any computer connected
to the Internet via a dialup or any other connection. Then either
immediately or on a periodic basis the data is communicated to the central
office. In the central office the management reports are generated capturing
completed activities by date range, by salesman, territory, store and
manufacturer. After management approval these reports can be made available
for reviewing by the manufacturers and stores' representatives as well.
The data communicated to the field in addition to actual activity scheduling
may include plan-o-grams, best practices, cross-merchandising recommendations
and other information.
